Federal Judge Orders Fish And Wildlife Service To Consider ESA Protection For Wolverines

A federal judge in Montana has ordered the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to reconsider protecting the wolverine under the Endangered Species Act, ruling that the agency committed "serious errors" that undermined its 2020 decision not to extend those protections.

Higher Snake River Flows Mean Lower Jackson Lake Levels At Grand Teton National Park

The Bureau of Reclamation is increasing outflows from Jackson Lake, timed to coincide with the natural peak (high) flows. As higher temperatures across the basin are anticipated, Jackson Lake inflows, the Snake River, and major tributaries are forecasted to peak over the Memorial Day weekend.

Point Reyes NS Announces Summer Weekend & Holiday Beach Closure For Nesting Snowy Plovers

It's time at Point Reyes National Seashore for its annual beach closure for the protection of nesting federally-threatened snowy plovers. Each year the park on the California coast closes the stretch of beach between the North Beach parking lot and the mouth of Abbotts Lagoon. This closure is in effect for each Saturday, Sunday, and holiday from Saturday, May 28, through Monday, September 5, 2022.

Court Ruling Retains e-Bike Rules In National Parks, But Calls For Study Of Impacts

While the National Park Service failed three years ago to carefully study the potential impact of e-Bike use in the National Park System, a federal judge did not block their use but simply directed the agency to take "a hard look" at positive and negative impacts.
