Humpback Chub Reclassified As Threatened Under Endangered Species Act

The humpback chub, a native to the Colorado River basin that long has struggled to survive, has made enough progress to be reclassified as a threatened, not endangered, species under the Endangered Species Act, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Roadwork Taking Place Across Mojave National Preserve

Much-needed roadwork is being tackled at Mojave National Preserve this month. The work will take place on Ivanpah, Lanfair, and Black Canyon roads. Visitors and inholding residents in the preserve may encounter trucks carrying rock aggregate material and road crews working in the area, which may cause short delays for motorists.
