More than $1.1 million will be used at Biscayne National Park in Florida in a bid to protect coral reefs from disease and climate-change impacts, and to restore reefs in the park.

Starting Friday, March 8, the National Park Service (NPS) is temporarily closing those carriage roads to prevent damage to them during the spring thaw. Carriage roads will be closed to all users until further notice for the spring thaw.

Yellowstone National Park seeks public comment on proposed measures to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into park waters. The proposals include a 30-day mandatory dry time for some types of motorized boats and sailboats before entering park waters and the prohibition of watercraft previously fouled by mussels regardless of dry time.

Commercial air tours over Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico will be banned later this year under an air tour management plan reached by the National Park Service and the Federal Aviation Administration.
