Seasons in Capitol Reef

Capitol Reef is most accommodating, to humans, in spring and summer, but the other seasons aren't entirely intolerable.

Capitol Reef National Park has an arid climate with precipitation averaging just 7.2 inches (18.3 cm) annually at the park Visitor Center weather station.

Except for July and August, daily high temperatures usually range anywhere from 41°F to 81°F (5° to 27° C). July and August highs range between 89°F and 92°F (31.7° to 33°C). Daily low temperatures can range anywhere from 18° to 62°F (-7.8° to 16.7°C), depending upon the time of year you visit.
