Your support of National Parks Traveler, the only news organization we know of dedicated to coverage of national parks and protected areas, on Giving Tuesday makes it possible for us to continue to build on the coverage we provided you with this past year.
That coverage ranged from Virgin Islands National Park in the Caribbean to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska. We tracked how the coronavirus pandemic was impacting the National Park System, as well as how climate change was altering the dynamics of wildfire in Western parks. Our correspondents took you into the watery landscape of Everglades National Park and onto the John Muir Trail, into Valles Caldera National Preserve and into the cemeteries of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Through our weekly podcast series we took you to the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, listened to the sounds of nature in the park system, and discussed fall lodging possibilities for your travels.
In all, this year we've brought roughly 1,000 articles from around the National Park System and a podcast every Sunday to a global audience of more than 3 million.
National Parks Traveler is an independent media organization that works daily to bring readers and listeners both the wonders of the National Park System and the news events that impact the parks and the National Park Service. It is not associated with the National Park Service, and relies greatly on readers and listeners like you for support.
We believe Traveler’s coverage is vital because the parks belong to you. If you appreciate our coverage, please help to see it continues with a donation on Giving Tuesday.
Here’s a small glimpse of the coverage we brought you in 2020.
