There's one lodge located inside the monument, the 74-room Thunderbird Lodge, which is under management of the Navajo Hospitality Enterprise and offers a motel, gift shop, cafeteria and canyon tours.
During the summer, traditional Native American dance groups perform on site. Thunderbird Lodge is open all year and is conveniently located near the Cottonwood Campground.
The lodge sits on the site of a trading post built in 1896, and its cafeteria-style restaurant is located in the trading post’s original building. The Thunderbird Lodge gift shop and rug room offer some of the region’s finest examples of Native American jewelry, rugs, artwork and crafts.
There are a range of rooms to choose from, from "double full' and "double queen" to "single king," "king suite," and "double queen suite."
