A coating of snow covered the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday/NPS

Sure, it's not even Labor Day yet, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little snow in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado in August.

A cold front that blew through the park Thursday and Friday temporarily closed Trail Ridge Road and the Old Fall River Road. Park road crews were able to clear the ice and snow buildup on the roads by early afternoon Friday despite white-out conditions.

"Road conditions included significant ice, gusts of 50 mph as well as white-out conditions due to blowing snow above 11,500 feet," said park spokesperson Kyle Patterson.

This is what we need here In California. Snow, rain, ice we'd take anything we could get right about now

We were just there the day before, watched the thunderstorm Thursday night from the porch of our VRBO.  Can't believe it, so glad it waited a day otherwise we wouldn't have made it all the way up!
