Relive the past late next week when steam-belching locomotives take to the tracks at Golden Spike National Historical Park in northern Utah.
The park, which celebrates the joining of the tracks for the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869, will stage its annual Winter Steam Festival on December 28, 29, and 30.
The Central Pacific locomotive Jupiter will be featured for this year's steam demonstrations. The Jupiter will run throughout the day along the historic Transcontinental Railroad grade where visitors will have the opportunity to smell, hear, see, and feel the power of this Victorian-era locomotive, transporting visitors back to the 1860s.
