A lack of housing is one of the biggest problems the National Park Service faces in efforts to raise employee morale, and at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in southern Utah and northern Arizona the agency is working with its National Leasing Housing Program to find additional housing for seasonal employees.
With help from National Leasing Housing Program, NRA staff is searching for leasing opportunities for seasonal employees for six months to a year.
"The park is working on setting up at least two leases; two cabins for up to four seasonal employees," the NRA said in a recent newsletter. "The Housing Manager Office has been working with several local businesses to get this leasing program set up. In order to become a vendor for leasing to the National Park Service, interested parties must register in Sam.gov. The housing issue is one of the National Park Service’s top priorities to resolve."
