Homestead National Historical Park is staging its third annual National Parks Photo Contest/Mel Mann file

Homestead National Historical Park in Nebraska is seeking submissions for its third annual National Parks Photo Contest, with selected images to be showcased in the park during April and May.

Selected photos will be featured in a photography exhibit at the Homestead Education Center during those months. The exhibit is part of Homestead’s celebration of National Park Week, which runs from April 20 to April 28. Entries can focus on national park sites, small and large, including national scenic trails, national monuments, and national seashores.

Photographs do not need to have been taken within any specific period of time. The selected photographs will be displayed in an exhibition and must be clearly reproduced at a minimum size of 12”x18.” Photos with ratios other than 2:3 or 3:2 may be cropped for use in the exhibit.

To enter, email your photograph(s) to [email protected]. In the email, provide your name, the name of park depicted, and a few sentences describing the photo and your experience in the park. Homestead staff will accept submissions until March 10. Up to three photos are allowed per person. Entries must be the original work of the photographer. Images containing recognizable images of individuals must have written permission from those depicted to be eligible. A photo release form is available if needed.

By submitting a photograph, you agree to the following terms:

You retain all rights to any photograph you submit. You grant Homestead National Historical Park a royalty-free, non-exclusive right, in perpetuity, to use the photograph physically and digitally in support of the park’s mission. Photos may be cropped as needed by the park. Homestead National Historical Park will credit all photographs to the photographer when possible.
