DJs provide the soundtrack as young skaters wobble in between adults with serious skills. Extended families watch from the sidelines. Vendors sell bubble tea and volunteers dole out apples and oranges. As always, skate rentals are free.

Death Valley National Park Notches Hottest Summer On Record

Death Valley National Park this year recorded the hottest meteorological summer (June-August) on record, with an average 24-hour temperature of 104.5°F (40.3°C). This surpasses the previous record of 104.2°F (40.1°C), set in 2021 and 2018, according to a release from the park.
