With Acadia National Park's centennial coming up in 2016, there's a search under way for a logo to mark that birthday.

Communities near Apostle Islands National Lakeshore are standing ready to help the park operate as close to normal as possible this winter, which means the popular "ice caves" could be more easily accessible if the ice allows.

Heads will be tilted back and eyes gazing overhead on November 23 at Joshua Tree National Park when the park, in partnership with Celestron Telescopes, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, American Park Network, and the Joshua Tree National Park Association, hosts an astronomy event.

Though Congress has yet to act on legislation to allow the National Park Service to acquire the Gettysburg Railroad Station, the Gettysburg Foundation has reached an agreement to purchase the station.
