Ranger-Led Tours Reach Newly Accessible Monument on Cedar Creek Civil War Battlefield

Many pivotal Civil War battlefield sites of historic import are unmarked, located on private land, and rarely visited by the public. That was the case with the 8th Vermont Monument on the Cedar Creek battlefield. Now located on National Park Service property, the monument is the destination for a summer program of ranger-led hikes.

Group Claims National Park Service Planning To Erect Cell Tower In Yellowstone Without Proper Approvals

Charges were raised today that the National Park Service is moving to OK a 100-foot-tall cellphone tower in the middle of Yellowstone National Park without having properly taken all the steps to OK the project, including informing the public along the way.

Battlefield Preservation Grants Bestowed By National Park Service In 17 States Or Territories

A long list of states and sites will receive more than $1.3 million in grants to help preserve, protect, document, and interpret America’s significant battlefield lands. The funding from the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) will support 27 projects at more than 75 battlefields nationwide.
