Thirteen years ago, National Park Trust launched Kids to Parks Day. Held annually on the third Saturday in May, this year’s national day of outdoor park play and recreation will be held on Saturday. For 2023, National Park Trust is teaming up with the American Academy of Pediatrics and Mental Health Awareness Month to promote the many physical and mental health benefits of getting outdoors and enjoying nature and parks.

Water Issues Will Delay Overnight Accommodations At Grand Canyon Lodge

The harsh winter at Grand Canyon National Park destroyed more than 300 feet of water pipeline servicing the Grand Canyon Lodge, which won't offer overnight accommodations until late July at the earliest.

Multi-Use Pathway Coming To Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Approval has been received to build a not-quite 2-mile long multi-use pathway at Cape Hatteras National Seashore that will lead to the Cape Hatteras Light as well as the beach from North Carolina 12, the main highway that runs down the Outer Banks.

Parts Of Yosemite Valley Under Flood Warning

Snowmelt pouring out of the high country of Yosemite National Park has led to a flood warning for the Yosemite Valley as the Merced River is expected to reach flood stage. As a result, the Lower, North Pines, and Housekeeping Camp campgrounds are closed.
