A mountain in Joshua Tree National Park has been officially named after Minerava Hoyt in honor of her efforts to see the park designated.

After four years of sweat, dirt and exhaustion, a substantial effort to rehabilitate three miles of trail in and around the Alberta Falls and Lake Haiyaha area of Rocky Mountain National Park has been completed.

On September 29, National Public Lands Day, the National Parks will celebrate by waiving the entrance fees to all national parks. In addition, thousands of national park lovers will volunteer to protect the promise of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).
