The just-completed year of 2009 was a busy one for the Traveler, as our output grew exponentially compared to 2008. While we have ambitious plans for 2010, we'd like to pause a moment and get some feedback from you.

During 2009, Traveler posted histories of ten of the many national parks that have been abolished/deauthorized/decommissioned/delisted since 1895.

One of the most beautiful settings for a national park stay is Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park. Set on the shores of Swift Current Lake with a view of the craggy Rockies in all directions, the lodge is one of the venerable old souls of the National Park System's lodging fraternity. But, sadly, it's well-worn and shabby in places. To remedy that, there's a renovation plan under way.
