Starting Monday visitors to Sequoia National Park in California can expect weekday, daytime closures, and delays for an estimated 4-week period between Hospital Rock and the Giant Forest area.

The body of a mountaineer who died in a fall of roughly 1,000 feet earlier this week was recovered Saturday by Denali National Park and Preserve climbing rangers, while a second climber injured in the accident remained hospitalized in Anchorage, Alaska.

A stretch of the John Muir Trail in Yosemite National Park has been covered by a rockfall that has covered about 1,000 feet of trail and which will take weeks to clear.

The Cedar Run Trail in the central section of Shenandoah National Park will be closed for repairs for about two weeks beginning May 6. The trail has completely washed out and poses a fall risk for hikers, a park release said.
