Seven national parks will host special events this year with Ada Limón, the nation’s 24th  Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry.

Starting Friday, March 8, the National Park Service (NPS) is temporarily closing those carriage roads to prevent damage to them during the spring thaw. Carriage roads will be closed to all users until further notice for the spring thaw.

Yellowstone National Park seeks public comment on proposed measures to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into park waters. The proposals include a 30-day mandatory dry time for some types of motorized boats and sailboats before entering park waters and the prohibition of watercraft previously fouled by mussels regardless of dry time.

Efforts to sustain native forests and restore eastern grasslands are the focus of $410,000 in funding received by Weir Farm National Historical Park in Connecticut.
