Grand Teton National Park Rangers Rescue Father and Son From the Snake River After Their Raft Springs a Leak

A father and son who thought they could negotiate 25 miles of the Snake River on an inflatable raft better suited for a swimming pool and armed with sticks for paddles had to be rescued by Grand Teton National Park rangers several miles into their journey when the raft sprung a leak.

Update: Sylvatic Plague and Tularemia Afflict Prairie Dogs in Badlands National Park

Officials have confirmed the presence of sylvatic plague and tularemia in Badlands National Park. That’s bad news for the park’s prairie dogs and black-footed ferrets, but visitors should be OK if they use common sense safety precautions.

Campground at Joshua Tree National Park Closed due to Swarming Bees

Officials at Joshua Tree National Park in California announced that the Jumbo Rocks Campground has been temporarily closed due a rather unusual wildlife safety problem - swarming bees.

Wildfire at Zion National Park Prompts Closure of a Section of West Rim Trail

If you're headed to Zion National Park in the next few days, you may notice a bit of smoke in the canyon at night, and a section of the West Rim Trail has been closed temporarily. Both are the result of a small wildfire in the northern portion of the park.
