National Park Trust Enables Expansion Of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park has grown by 44 acres thanks in part to the National Park Trust. The expansion helps protect the unique cultural landscape with its archaeological artifacts. The property, which has now been transferred to the National Park Service, is adjacent to the original San Juan Acequia that was built to support daily life at the missions during the Spanish colonial period.

NPS Releases $3.15 Million To Preserve And Interpret World War II Japanese American Confinement Sites

Asian American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities have a rich heritage thousands of years old and have both shaped the history of the United States and had their lives dramatically influenced by moments in its history. Through historic preservation efforts like the $3,155,000 in Japanese American Confinement Site Grants awarded this week, the National Park Service is working to ensure these places and stories are accessible and present in today’s society.
