UPDATE | 2025 State Of The Birds Report Documents Continued Declines In Species

Sea ducks such as Common eiders, grassland birds such as Western meadowlarks and Lark buntings, and forest species such as Pinyon jays in the West and Bachman's sparrow in the East are among a wide variety of bird species that are in serious declines, according to the 2025 State of the Birds report.

Mount Rainier National Park Evaluating Project In Official Wilderness To Address Flooding

Public input is being sought on a plan by the National Park Service and Washington State Transportation Department on a proposed project within the Mount Rainier Wilderness that seeks to reduce the risk of flooding and erosion to a segment of State Route 410 (SR 410) adjacent to the White River in Mount Rainier National Park.
