UPDATE | Preparing For The Unexpected Across The National Park System

Though Hurricane Beryl was roughly 1,200 nautical miles from Padre Island National Seashore on Tuesday, crews already were out on the barrier island's beaches searching for Kemp's ridley sea turtle nests. Any that were found were recorded with a GPS location so, in the event the hurricane took a hard swipe at the national seashore, the nests could be relocated after the storm.

Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation Seeks Support For Improvement Projects

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is seeking support for critical projects that will enhance the 469-mile scenic route. The initiatives include repairing historical structures, rehabilitating trails and overlooks, engaging children in outdoor activities, and showcasing traditional mountain music for visitors.
