Texas A&M Researchers Working To Reduce Ammonia, Nitrogen Emissions At Rocky Mountain National Park

Agriculture-generated emissions of ammonia and nitrogen are a problem at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, though researchers at Texas A&M University believe they can help reduce them by working with livestock operations along the state's Front Range.

Groups Push For Eastern Hellbender To Be Protected By ESA

"Hellbenders," massive salamanders that can reach 2 feet in length, have not had it easy in recent decades. Back in 2011 the Ozark hellbender, which have been found in Ozark National Scenic Riverways, was designated an endangered species. And now conservation groups want the Eastern hellbender protected by the Endangered Species Act as well.

Full Campgrounds, Road Construction, And Trail Closures at Big Bend National Park

If you plan on visiting Big Bend National Park during Spring Break (March – April), you'll need to make camping/lodging reservations outside the park, since all park campgrounds are full. If you are visiting during March, specifically, be aware of road construction delays and closures. And, to protect nesting falcons, some trails are closed to the public February 1 - May 31.
