As the National Park Service continues to study a proposal to run a larger transmission line through Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and two other units of the National Park System, the details and possibilities are changing.

It's difficult in today's world to image a house sitting on 34 acres of wooded farmland in the middle of New York City, but that was the former setting for Alexander Hamilton's house called The Grange. A five year project to relocate and restore the house has been completed and Hamilton Grange National Memorial has reopened to the public.

In the United States, we almost always hike on public land, land owned by a government entity. But in Great Britain, national trails and national parks are on private land. The Cotswold Way goes through fields and pastures, past ruins, and even through golf courses.

The National Park Service's Boy/Girl Scout Ranger Programs give youngsters opportunities to earn Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger patches or certificates by learning about park resources and helping to protect them.
