With the National Park Service once again allowed to issue permits to commercial horse packers, the folks who run the Bearpaw High Sierra Camp in Sequoia National Park say the camp will be open for business beginning June 29.

With National Trails Day arriving Saturday, hikers, bikers, and paddlers in 23 states will have access to a new national recreation trails in their respective states.

For the third time in a week, a pipeline carrying water below the rim in Grand Canyon National Park has broken. This time the break washed out a 45-foot section of the North Kaibab Trail, and park officials say that means cross-canyon travel won't be possible for the near future.
