Help power the National Parks Traveler’s coverage of national parks and protected areas.
This week we sit down with Becky Lomax, author of Moon’s USA National Parks, to discuss news stories that arose around the National Park System during May. And we bring you an interesting story about efforts to recover populations of endangered black-footed ferrets in the West. Two places where they’re working on that are Wind Cave and Badlands national parks in South Dakota.
Located in South Dakota, Badlands National Park is a rugged landscape containing one of "the world's richest fossil beds," where you can view surreal geological formations, vast mixed-grass prairie, and wildlife including bison, prairie dogs, and black-footed ferrets.
National Parks Traveler is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit.
Here’s the definitive guide to National Park System campgrounds where RVers can park their rigs.
Our app is packed with RVing- specific details on more than 250 campgrounds in more than 70 national parks.
You’ll also find stories about RVing in the parks, tips helpful if you’ve just recently become an RVer, and useful planning suggestions.
