Denali National Park and Preserve officials have extended the public comment period on their plans for allocating climbing permits on Mount McKinley by two weeks, and you can pretty much be sure those who make their living guiding climbs will have something to say.
Denali National Park and Preserve is the only national park in America with a working sled dog kennel. It's hard to beat a puppy when it comes to the "aaaw factor," and thanks to a new on-line "Puppy Cam," fans of sleds dogs can now enjoy live views of young canines at the park's kennels.

If you wanted to immerse yourself in nature, away from the frantic pace and sights and sounds of the manmade world, you might think the wilderness of Denali National Park would be the ideal place. And you would be wrong.
