Help power the National Parks Traveler’s coverage of national parks and protected areas.
Denali National Park and Preserve seems to be making a run at the Appalachian national parks for best fall colors. This shot by the park staff shows off bearberry/red, kinnikinnick/green, dwarf birch/orange, and aspen/yellow with a spruce background.
For many of us, Alaska is a place we long to see in person...but we might not ever make it there. That's why we rely on photographers like QT Luong to capture the state's landscapes. This shot shows how colorful and contrasting the tundra and Mount McKinley of Denali National Park and Preserve can be in the fall when the late-afternoon sun illuminates it.
