Grand Teton National Park Seeking Comment On Telecommunications Plan

Once upon a time, stringing wire in Grand Teton National Park might have meant running barbed wire. But these days it's all about fiber optic cable and wireless telecommunications equipment. Park staff have worked out a plan for greatly expanding the reach of Wi-Fi in the park and are seeking public comment on that proposal.

How many of you have ever traveled to Grand Teton National Parkm in the Cowboy State? How many of you might be considering a first time visit to this park? Volunteers Help Protect Grand Teton National Park Bears...And Visitors

The grizzly bear population has steadily grown in Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem over the last several decades, providing visitors to the area ever increasing opportunities to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The presence of grizzlies adds to a robust population of black bears and, when combined with large numbers of park visitors, has increased the potential for conflicts between humans and bears. This has led to a variety of challenges for land and wildlife managers.

Rescue In Granite Canyon

Not quite a month after Grand Teton National Park rangers urged skiers and snowboarders to be wary of avalanche conditions when they look into the park from boundary ropes of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, four skiers ducked under the rope and headed down, with two becoming lost and requiring a nighttime rescue.
