July and August, when the salmon are running in Silver Salmon Creek, provide prime bear viewing opportunities at Lake Clark National Park & Preserve, Alaska. In between salmon snacks, this sow kept a weather eye out on her cubs, the salmon swimming in the creek below her, and the photographers standing a safe distance away while using their telephoto lenses.
