Though some states are seeing spikes in Covid-19 cases, more parks are reopening access to the public. Death Valley National Park has reopened more campgrounds, Zion National Park plans to resume its shuttles this week, and Canyon Mouth Park at Little River Canyon National Preserve is back in business.

Efforts to help improve Coho salmon habitat at Muir Woods National Monument in California are scheduled to begin in August, with crews removing previously placed boulders in Redwood Creek and revegetating the creek with native plants.

Work won't start for two years, but the National Park Service has completed environmental compliance for a project to improve parking, transit, and visitor access to Muir Woods National Monument just north of San Francisco. The Muir Woods Sustainable Access Project is expected to enhance safety, visitor experience, and protection of park resources through the reorganization of parking areas, optimization of traffic flow, and redesign of the visitor entry plaza.
