Rocky Mountain National Park's Moraine Park Campground To Close Temporarily For Water Line Repairs

Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park will be closed at noon on Tuesday, May 2, for a major water line system improvement project, and will reopen by Thursday, May 25. Aspenglen Campground, which normally opens in late May, will open early, beginning May 1, to provide camping opportunities on the east side of the park.

A 12.5-acre privately owned tract of land in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado was poised to go on sale, a move that could have led to a bigger developed footprint in the park, when the Rocky Mountain Conservancy stepped in to purchase it with help from the Wilderness Land Trust and the National Park Trust.
