Getting To Voyageurs National Park

If you have a boat in tow, more than likely you will be driving to Voyageurs National Park in Northern Minnesota, near the Canadian border. If you aren’t bringing a boat and live further away, you might be flying in, then driving, to visit those portions of the park approachable via vehicle.

The nearest airport to Voyageurs is Falls International Airport (INL) in International Falls, Minnesota. This airport is located about 14 miles from the park's Rainy Lake Visitor Center. While flights are limited, it's closer to the park than the larger airports of Duluth International Airport (DLH), 143 miles away from the Ash River Visitor Center, Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT), 227 miles (366 kilometers) away from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center, and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), 283 miles away from the Ash River Visitor Center.

The only in-park lodge at Voyageurs is accessible only by boat, so for other lodging, as well as groceries, dining, fuel, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, look to the communities lining the southern border of Voyagers National Park.
