Fees
A Timed-Entry reservation for a self-guided tour to Carlsbad Cavern is required and may be purchased for $1 through recreation.gov.
Ranger-guided tours may also be reserved through recreation.gov.
An entrance pass is also required to enter the park:
Standard Pass: $15 which applies to vehicles, motorcycles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
America the Beautiful Annual Pass (includes Senior Passes): FREE - $80
Weather
The Chihuahuan Desert is commonly known for its hot and dry climate; for Carlsbad Caverns, this stands to be true. Visitors can expect hot summers with daily high temperatures ranging between 90-110 F (32 - 43 C).
While there is the occasional snow and icy temperatures in the winter, on average the park sees 278 sunny days a year, according to park staff.
