Lassen Park Foundation provides philanthropic support to Lassen Volcanic National Park and invites all, especially youth, to experience and preserve the natural and cultural resources of this special place. The Lassen Park Foundation is an official non-profit partner of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Lassen Association promotes the discovery of Lassen Volcanic National Park, enriches the experience of visitors, and supports the preservation and protection of the park for future generations by operating on-site interpretive/educational merchandise outlets at the Loomis Museum and Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center, as well as an online bookstore.

If you purchase just one book during your visit to this national park, this is the book you should get. Plenty of information is packed into this 48-page book by Larry Eifert, including trail lists, geologic explanations, park history, and a small glossary in addition to descriptions of points of interest along the Lassen Volcanic National Park Highway through the park.

This book describes the geology and geologic evolution of Lassen Volcanic National Park and surrounding areas, with an up-to-date source of geologic information based on over 30 years of regional field work in Lassen Volcanic National Park and vicinity. In addition to an in-depth natural history discussion covering rock-types, volcanoes, and geologic time, there are cultural and historical notes about the region, a mile-by-mile geologic tour through the park to Old Station, and eight detailed hikes to get out and explore the geology of Lassen Country.
