Birding In The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve

A light drizzle created a gray sky when my mom and I hopped out of the car at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas. The flint hills rolled all around us, differing shades of green fading in and out of the distance. Though the prairie used to cover 170 million acres, only 4 percent still exists, 11,000 acres of which are within the preserve.

3rd Annual Candlelight Tour Coming To Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is taking reservations for the preserve’s 3rd annual Candlelight Tour taking place on Saturday, November 10. All activities are free, but reservations are required for this event and fill up fast. You can call the visitor center at 620-273-8494 (hit 0) to make your free reservation.

Second Annual Candlelight Tour Coming To Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve
