Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve's 13.2 million acres includes some outstanding scenery and wilderness opportunities, but until recently, there have been no formal NPS camping facilities in the park. That's now changed after the dedication of the new Kendesnii Campground.

"Flight following" technology, which can help dispatchers keep an eye on the whereabouts of aircraft, is being required aboard all National Park Service aircraft, or any aircraft carrying Park Service personnel, in Alaska, and soon could be required throughout the National Park System.
