A Utah man was cited for BASE jumping in Zion National Park this past weekend, and he and his two friends were also cited for illegally camping in the park and violating a raptor nesting closure.
Zion National Park Rangers Rescue Two Visitors
Though visitation to Zion National Park reportedly has fallen greatly since the park's campgrounds and lodge were closed, rangers on Thursday had to rescue two area residents who suffered injuries in the park.

Hours after Coconino County officials in Arizona, frustrated that Grand Canyon National Park is still open despite the worsening coronavirus pandemic, urged Interior Secretary David Bernhardt on Thursday to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and close the park, the National Park Service announced some operational changes at the park.

Peregrine Falcons Bring Temporary Close To Hiking Routes At Zion National Park
The annual arrival of peregrines to nest in the cliffs of Zion National Park is leading to a temporarry closure for some climbing routes in the park in southwestern Utah. Closures are implemented due to the falcon’s sensitivity to disturbance during the nesting season. If disturbed, the nesting pair may abandon their nest site and not nest again until the following year.

Utah Congressional Delegation Opposes Reservation System At Zion National Park
U.S. Sens. Mitt Romney and Mike Lee and the rest of Utah's congressional delegation told Interior Secretary David Bernhardt they don't want to see a reservation system established at Zion National Park because it could adversely impact the local economy.

Zion National Park has hiking trails for all levels, from the Lower Emerald Pool Trail to the Canyon Overlook Trail to the trail in this image: Angels Landing Trail. Even if you decide to stop at Scout Lookout and not hike that last vertigo-inducing half mile, you can still be proud of what you've tackled, and the views along the way are stunning.
