Seasonal firefighter USFS, Sierra NF, Mariposa District, Indian Flat Fire Station, El Portal; 1972, 1973, 1974; attended Merced JC & California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo off-season.

Began career with NPS in Yosemite, first week of January 1975 -- part-time Booker/Jailer in new SOTA jail over the Valley Firehouse, then fulltime until return to Cal Poly SLO.

Seasonal Footpatrol Park Technician Valley District Night Shift Summer 1976, back to SLO to complete Biology degree work.

Seasonal Road Patrol Valley District Night Shift Spring & Summer 1977.

Permanent Park Technician, GGNRA, South District October 1977.

Park Aquatic Safety Specialist 1978 - 1979.

Supervisory Park Ranger Stinson Beach 1981 - 1996.

Assistant Chief Ranger 1997.
