The current operator for the Pisgah Inn has received a 10-year extension/David and Kay Scott

The Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway will continue to be managed by Parkway Inn, Inc., under a 10-year contract awarded by the National Park Service.

Parkway Inn, Inc. has operated the Pisgah Inn, located at Milepost 408.6, since 1978. The current contract expires at the end of 2014 and an open bid period was announced last spring seeking interested operators to manage the popular Parkway destination. Details of the new agreement were not released.

The Pisgah Inn concession includes a 51-room lodge, the restaurant and gift shop, the country store, and employee housing.

Parkway Inn, Inc. is the management company established in 1978 when current owners, Bruce O'™Connell and his family, took on operations.

Based on our experience with an overnight stay 2 years ago and several meals in the restaurant since then, I'd rate this as a good decision. The present small company seems to be doing a good job operating the Inn.

This was great news. I've stayed and eaten at the Pisgah Inn many times and look forward to doing many more.
