Hidden among the beautiful cliffs and beaches at Point Reyes National Seashore in California are fossilized links to the past, perhaps even undiscovered species of animals.
The latest video in the “Outside Science (inside parks)” series follows Lillian Pearson, a paleontology intern at Point Reyes who has helped survey the park to determine where to look for fossils. Finds include a porpoise skull that might be from a previously unknown species.
Every month in 2016, the “Outside Science (inside parks)” video series will showcase ways “the next generation is getting involved in park science.” This is the tenth episode released by the National Park Service and produced by students from Colorado State University. Previous videos chronicle:
