Identify Yourself As A National Parks Traveler

Share

The National Park System is rich with stories. That’s why you and I read National Parks Traveler, a news organization that focuses only on national parks and protected areas. But to keep these stories in your in-box, Traveler Founder and Editor-in-Chief Kurt Repanshek needs your help. He needs your support.

You have come to rely on Traveler to keep you informed on environmental, scientific, and other newsworthy developments surrounding, involving, and affecting these areas and their governing bodies. Traveler’s coverage helps you make the most out of your national park visits, and alerts you to matters that could adversely impact parks.

These are tough times for journalism. Advertising is down, and across the country the number of editorially independent news outlets is falling, which in turn reduces the news coverage available to you.  National Parks Traveler has bucked this national trend and has grown as a highly acclaimed source of independent news about our National Park System. But to stay in business and keep those stories coming out every week, Traveler needs your help.

Kurt has always provided his content for free and he has no intention of changing that. But economic times are very tight and ensuring the future of Traveler would be greatly enhanced with your help.

Please consider supporting Traveler by making a donation. Your tax-deductible gift of $10 or $5 a month would greatly help Traveler keep those stories coming to your in-box. If a monthly gift isn’t possible, Kurt would certainly appreciate a one-time gift.

NPT water bottles

For a donation of $50 or more Traveler will send you an insulated water bottle so you can identify yourself as a national parks traveler.

For those giving $50 or more, Traveler will thank you with an American-made insulated water bottle that identifies you as a national parks traveler. Bearing a signature Rebecca Latson photo of Grand Teton National Park, these 20-ounce bottles feature a double-wall construction that keeps cold beverages cold and hot beverages hot longer than single-wall bottles.

The important thing is to give. Kurt really needs your help right now. ~ Phil Francis, Coalition to Protect America's National Parks

 Keeping Traveler Online

As Phil pointed out, Traveler is the only editorially independent news organization that is focused solely on national parks and protected areas. And he's right, the National Park System is rich with stories, whether they're tied to breaking news events such as hurricanes or wildfires, or they're the backdrop for your vacation, or they're the landscape of discovery.

We need to raise $50,000 by year's end so we can greatly expand our coverage of these unique and wonderous places. If you can offer a matching grant to help us attain that goal, or your organization or company can help underwrite one of the park projects we have on our radar, please contact us

We have a professional team of writers and photographers around the country ready to help us generate much more content for your consumption. But we need your support to put them to work. With that support, we'll keep you on top of national parks and protected areas. ~ Kurt Repanshek, founder, editor-in-chief of National Parks Traveler.

P.S. -- Please share this story with your friends who also are passionate about national parks.

Beautiful water bottle.

Worth making a donation just for the bottle.
