Help National Parks Traveler Reach Its Fundraising Goal To Keep You Informed

As a nonprofit news organization, we rely heavily on readers and listeners to support our newsgathering. Your financial support goes directly towards putting writers, photographers, and broadcasters into the National Park System to keep you informed about how your national parks are being managed. Please help us reach our $100,000 goal by December 31.

Along with donating, please sign up for our weekly e-letter to stay informed. This newsletter goes out every Tuesday and recaps the past week's stories, making it easy for you to stay on top of the news and choose which stories you want to read.

For nearly two decades we've provided essential coverage of national parks and protected areas. With the Trump administration’s determination to downsize the federal government, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s approach to public lands focused on energy exploration, it’s clear the Traveler will have much to cover in the months and years ahead. We know of no other news organization that provides such broad coverage of national parks and protected areas on a daily basis. A copy of National Parks Traveler's financial statements may be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: National Parks Traveler, P.O. Box 980452, Park City, Utah 84098. National Parks Traveler was formed in the state of Utah for the purpose of informing and educating about national parks and protected areas.

Residents of the following states may obtain a copy of our financial and additional information as stated below:

  • Florida: A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION FOR NATIONAL PARKS TRAVELER, (REGISTRATION NO. CH 51659), MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING 800-435-7352 OR VISITING THEIR WEBSITE. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE.
  • Georgia: A full and fair description of the programs and financial statement summary of National Parks Traveler is available upon request at the office and phone number indicated above.
  • Maryland: Documents and information submitted under the Maryland Solicitations Act are also available, for the cost of postage and copies, from the Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis, MD 21401 (410-974-5534).
  • North Carolina: Financial information about this organization and a copy of its license are available from the State Solicitation Licensing Branch at 888-830-4989 or 919-807-2214. The license is not an endorsement by the State.
  • Pennsylvania: The official registration and financial information of National Parks Traveler may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling 800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
  • Virginia: Financial statements are available from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, 102 Governor Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219.

Before I donate I would like to know where your GIFTS are made........... I hope in the US.

Russ, great question. Our bottles are made by Liberty Bottleworks, based in Union Gap, Washington, which is where they design and produce the bottles.

The hats come from Thread Logic, a Minnesota-based company. Unfortunately, they can't assure us where the hats come from, as it's a supply and demand thing. The latest delivery was made in Cambodia, with the logo added by Thread Logic.

But more important is that your support of the Traveler goes to support freelance writers, photographers, and broadcasters here in the United States. The downsizing of the news industry due to online competition has put many journalists out of work or left them scraping by, and we're proud to be able to help freelancers land a paycheck.

I just tried to donate, but the PayPal donation page required me to create a PayPal account to proceed. I have donated to six other 503c organizations in the past week through PayPal using only a credit card and without creating or having a PayPal account. Please consider changing your arrangement with PayPal so that donators do not need to create an account. Thanks.

Hi Will, not sure what page you tried to use to donate, but we're set up to take credit cards and not require Paypal accounts. Try the donate buttons on this story and let us know if you encounter a problem.
