Haleakalā National Park has closed due to the fires on Maui/NPS file

The devastating wildfires that have run across Maui continue to keep Haleakalā National Park closed, with reopening not expected before Monday.

Visitors should not plan to drive to or visit the park until it has been officially reopened, a park release said Thursday.

Camping reservations for Hosmer Grove, backcountry tent camping and cabins, and Kīpahulu campground for August 10 through August 14 have been canceled. Sunrise reservations for August 11 through August 14 also are canceled.
