With Hurricane Lee's track becoming more defined for the coming days, more facilities at Acadia National Park in Maine and Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts were closing in advance of the storm.
The National Hurricane Center on Friday issued a tropical storm warning for coastal Maine.
"On the forecast track, the center of Lee will continue to move farther away from Bermuda and approach the coast of New England and Atlantic Canada through Saturday," the center's forecast said. "Lee is then expected to turn toward the north-northeast and northeast and move across Atlantic Canada Saturday night and Sunday."
As of midday Friday, all of Acadia's campgrounds were closed; the Cadillac Summit Road was to close to vehicles at 10 p.m. Friday through noon on Sunday; at 7 p.m. Friday, the one-way section of Park Loop Road will be closed to motor vehicles until further notice; at 5 p.m. Friday, the one-way section of the Schoodic Loop Road starting at Frazer Point will be closed to motor vehicles until further notice; service of the Island Explorer shuttle bus was expected to be disrupted Friday and suspended Saturday; and the Jordan Pond House Restaurant, Wildwood Stables, Sieur de Monts Nature Center, Wild Gardens of Acadia, Thompson Island Information Center, and Islesford Historical Museum all were to be closed Saturday.
