Starting Sunday, December 1, Jewel Cave National Monument, in South Dakota, will shift to off-season hours. The visitor center will be closed on Sundays and open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Currently, the visitor center is operating out of the Park Store, managed by the park's partner, Black Hills Parks and Forests Association. This temporary setup is due to a complete HVAC system replacement affecting the usual visitor center space, including the information desk and exhibits.
Scenic and Discovery Tours will be offered when the visitor center is open, but tour reservations will be limited due to the ongoing HVAC project. For the latest updates on availability, call 605-673-8300 or email [email protected].
Please note that inclement weather during the off-season may result in visitor center closures and tour cancellations. Stay informed by visiting the park’s website at www.nps.gov/jeca or checking Jewel Cave’s Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.
