The last big holiday weekend in the National Park System likely will be a busy one in many parks. Staff at Zion, Acadia, and Sequoia/Kings Canyon national parks are saying crowds can be expected in their parks this coming weekend.

Wildlife managers generally report an increase in human-bat interactions in summer months. Individuals who have had physical contact with a bat are advised to seek medical attention and be assessed for appropriate medical treatment.

Utah authorities appear to be hoping their lawsuit aimed at shrinking the size of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments reaches the U.S. Supreme Court, where Chief Justice John Roberts a little more than a year ago expressed interest in exploring how big is too big when it comes to a monument established by a president under The Antiquities Act.
