190 Bushels Of Fruit Stolen And Trees Damaged At Whiskeytown NRA

National Park Law Enforcement is seeking help in solving the vandalism and theft which occurred when an individual or individuals stole over 190 bushels of unripe fruit from the apple and pear trees at the Tower House Historic District of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, damaging the trees and irrigation system in the process.

Though Hurricane Beryl was roughly 1,200 nautical miles from Padre Island National Seashore on Tuesday, crews already were out on the barrier island's beaches searching for Kemp's ridley sea turtle nests. Any that were found were recorded with a GPS location so, in the event the hurricane took a hard swipe at the national seashore, the nests could be relocated after the storm.
