With the climbing season on Mount McKinley in Denali National Park and Preserve winding down, the park's climbing rangers soon will get a well-deserved break from their search-and-rescue missions. The following video lets you better understand the dedication, demands, and talents of a group of rangers who put their lives on the line daily for others in need.

Originally produced with underwriting help from the National Parks Conservation Association, the folks at Wild Collective captured the images for this production during a two-week stint with some of Denali's climbing rangers back in 2008.

The principals at Wild Collective include Ian Shive, whose still photography skills were on display in The National Parks, Our American Landscape. Through his still photography and narration in this video, Mr. Shive takes you through the arduous days of the rangers, and also displays the breathtaking beauty of Mount McKinley.
