Those red roads that are a hallmark of Zion National Park will be getting a touch-up next week, and that could affect traffic in the park's famous canyon.

They've been shoveling mud this weekend at Stehekin in North Cascades National Park, where a potent storm spawned a mudslide that inundated parts of the lake-side community.

Prince Edward Island, one of the three Maritime Provinces on Canada's Atlantic coast, includes a lovely landscape that evokes a Grandma Moses painting of rural New England. A prime attraction on the island is Prince Edward Island National Park, where the combination of some serious literary nostalgia and fine natural features create what amounts to two parks in one.

Though summer is coming to a close, not all folks in national parks head home. At Mount Rainier National Park and other parks there are quite a few year-round rangers. The following video captures a year's worth of seasons at Rainier from the viewpoint of those rangers.
